CSTs & school
i don't have any hw today so i felt like blogging :)
CSTs are over :)
they were all super easy except for the first half of the social studies.
im gonna miss the shortened classes and everything.
only 20 more days of school ! it went by so fast D: but i didn't really like this year.. so it's ok xD
but thenn summer school starts like right after school ends -__- i have t
im excused from a huge project in social studies (along with a few other people) because of all the A's i got this year :D my teacher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Haskvitz) grades differently, teaches differently, and has given me a hard time with grades. but in the end, like all of his former students say, i was lucky to have him. before the CSTs came around, our class already went through the entire textbook about 3 times while all the other classes just started getting to the civil war. we were prepared for CSTs ! :) except the 6th and 7th grade stuff. we went through that stuff a bit, but i guess not enough. kinda sucks how we're tested on 6th, 7th, and 8th grade stuff.
im really sad i lost my sketch book D: the thing is huge and yellow but for some reason i can't find it. makes me sad. ive been drawing on random pieces of paper -__- and i was drawing on erasers and bookmarks and a whole lot of other stuff. i need to buy another sketch book soon.

it's been a while
I haven't had a chance to update for a long time :(
and so much happened!
I don't think I even talked about the Genesis Retreat
or skiing
or the Mexico Mission's Trip. :-|
I have like 5 million projects due in the next couple of weeks... placement tests coming up in the next week or so... bunch of tests as usual... lots of school events coming up...
I'll try to blog when most of my projects are done with :)

the Arboretum
HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D
So yesterday (New Year's Eve) my sister, a few artistic friends from church, and I went to the Arboretum in Arcadia to draw the different plants and animals there. but we had so much fun walking around the place we didn't draw much til the end when we sat down to draw some plants.
drawing was really fun :) one of our friends from church who goes the the Pasadena Art Center gave us the supplies we needed (although we brought a whole lot of our stuff anyways) and taught a little lesson.
At the Arboretum there are peacocks everywhere! They just walk around as if they were like people. At first we were kind of freaked out but then we got used to them. It's kind of funny how you would pass by a peacock like it's nothing unusual. The peacocks are practically free. In the parking lot there were lots of peacocks and when we were leaving we almost ran one over. And then this reminded me of a while ago when my family and I were on our way to a restaurant when a peacock runs across the road. We thought that was really weird and wondered where it came from. But now, I know where the peacock came from.

There was a big lake thing where there were a lot of geese and ducks.

A few different types of birds came too.

on the side was this one scary looking bird that just stood still like a statue for the longest time. None of the ducks or geese would get near him. Then suddenly he snatched up a fish out of the water and flew away. It was pretty cool x)

At another part of the lake a few geese gathered close to us and then all of a sudden they flew away at the same time.

There were a lot of interesting plants too...
like this spiky tree

This yellow tree had interesting leaves that felt and looked like the petals of a flower

We also saw carnivorous plants

and there was this colorful looking plant

This is the "Catawampus"!
It's like a house made up of twisted twigs and things like that.

the inside of the "Catawampus" was fun to explore

on our way home we stopped by the new Yogurtland in Rowland Heights and tried some of their new holiday flavors like candy cane, gingerbread, and eggnog. :)
It was a fun day and then at night my brother, sister, and I went to our church's annual overnighter. :)
I also went skiing a few days ago so I'll post about that soon :)

Disney on Ice!
Last night, at 7:30 pm, my family and I went to see Highschool Musical the Ice Tour at the Honda Center for free! My mom got the tickets because of her website and we got free goodie-bags x) there are things in that goodie-bag that they were selling :)
they made ice-skating look so easy :O they only made 4 mistakes (yah we counted)
they weren't that major and they quickly covered it up.
Before the show started, they had some trivia on a huge screen
we got close seats! (the hat came in the goodie-bag. I wouldn't buy it)

they showed the storyline of Highschool Musical one and two and showed a bit of the third one.

Kelsi was the narrator (of course these aren't the actual actors from the movie)

this is where they formed sort of a snake thing and one person swung out on accident. To cover, she did a couple of spins and went back into the line.

there were also lots of fireworks and it was amazing :)

Disneyland and California Adventures
Yesterday my mom, my sister, and I went to Disneyland and California Adventures!
I got out of school at 11:00 (minimum day) and we left at around 1pm.
My mom's friend's son works at Disneyland and got us in for free. The ticket was a park hopper so we went to Disneyland and then went to California Adventures and then went back to Disneyland.
I usually go on Autopia every time I go to Disneyland, but we didn't go this time :-/
But, I went to Star Tours for the first time! it's amazing how you really feel like you're going light speed!
Everything was decorated for the holidays!

The Haunted Mansion changed to the Nightmare Before Christmas

California Adventures!

The parade was cute :)
some pictures are blurry -__-

Lightning McQueen!

Ratatouille!

I wish I got a better picture of Mater :-/
he was really cute

Then we went to that new Toy Story ride!
it was a lot of fun :D It's similar to Astro Blasters at Disneyland except a lot more fun x)

While in line there was a giant Mr. Potato Head that talks to you :)

and of course we went to the Tortilla Factory and got some free, fresh, tasty tortillas :)

Small World looked really pretty but we didn't have a chance to ride it because the line was super long.

and finally, at night be decided to rest our legs and ride the monorail. :)

we stayed til closing time :)
it was super fun :D
